October 16-18, 2009 was a wonderful weekend for KSPS members and their guests! In spite of the rain, the die-hard haiku hikers (led by
Angela Thomas) bravely plunged into the Pine Mountain Trail composing their poems and having fun while doing so. The publishing panel
provided a delightful Friday evening with an inside look into publishing and a reading of their works. Frank X. Walker, extraordinary poet
and teacher, led a dynamic poetry workshop on Saturday afternoon and enthralled attendees with his poetry Saturday evening. The
banquet, "Night of the Stars," was particularly apt because of the wonderful star poets reading and receiving awards. A very special thanks
to Irma Cooper for her well thought out plan of top hats, mustaches and stage lips to make the event even more special!
